Purisima Promotes 2,350 Police Officers, Accepts 637 New Police Recruits of NCRPO

No less than NCRPO Chief PDIR ALAN LA MADRID PURISIMA administered the oath-taking  and the pinning of ranks ceremony for the newly promoted 139 Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and 2,211 Police Non Commissioned Officers (PNCO) personnel of NCRPO, Monday afternoon, January 30, 2012 at 3:00 PM.  In the same ceremony, Purisima accepted 637 new police recruits held at the NCRPO Parade Ground in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

“To the newly-promoted personnel, your promotion is just the start of a new task that entails a bigger responsibility to work harder and prove that you deserve the higher ranks that you received and to deliver the expected police services with passion and excellence”, Purisima said.

Purisima administered the oath of the metro cops promoted to the next higher rank in the presence of their families and friends, and witnessed by the officials of the National Police Commission led by Regional Director Yolanda Lira.

“Congratulations to our promotees and the new police recruits.  I am proud of your achievements and also welcome new bloods to the PNP organization and to the NCRPO in particular.  You are indeed a big boost to our organization as you will be  one with us in our mission to protect the public,” Purisima said.

The new batch of recruits is composed of 141 females and 496 males.  The NCRPO opened a prescribed quota for Police Officer I for the 3rd Phase CY 2011 recruitment program. After a series of test and validation, only 637 applicants have successfully passed the rigid screening conducted by the Regional Screening Committee.

The recruits underwent a series of stern physical, neuro-psychiatric, drug, medical and dental examinations after an arduous written general knowledge examination.  They were further screened in a character/background investigation.  Only those who were finally cleared were allowed to take the final interview.

These recruits will soon undergo the strenuous six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) to be followed by another six-month Field Training Program (FTP) under the NCR Training School.
